How this site handles your information.

This policy applies to The Qalam Research Institute — this website and nothing else. It does not describe how clinical records are kept. Records arising from counseling work are held separately, under the professional and legal obligations that govern that work, and are never stored on this site.

If you write through the contact form or by email, you share your name, your email address, an optional subject line, and whatever you choose to put in the message itself.

That information is used for one purpose: to reply to you. It is not sold, rented, or passed to anyone for marketing, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

Please keep a first message brief. It is not a secure channel, and there is no need to set out sensitive clinical detail before we have spoken.

This site sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no cross-site trackers. Nothing follows you off this domain.

A single cookie is used, and only by the site's author: a signed, httpOnly session cookie set when signing in to the private editorial area used to publish writing. It carries no personal data, expires within hours, and is never set for ordinary visitors.

No analytics or measurement service is running on this site at present. If that changes, a privacy-respecting service will be chosen, this page will be updated before it goes live, and nothing that identifies an individual reader will be collected.

The site runs on a commercial hosting platform. Like any web server, it writes short-lived request logs — an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, and a browser user-agent string. These are used to keep the site available, to limit abuse, and for nothing else.

Written pieces published here are stored with Supabase, a hosted database provider. Only the writing itself lives there. Reader information is not written to it.

Fonts are served from the site's own origin at build time rather than fetched from a third party while you read, so browsing here does not announce your visit elsewhere.

Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful for the conversation it belongs to, and then deleted. Server logs are short-lived and rotate automatically.

You can ask what correspondence is held, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to info@theqalaminstitute.org and the request will be handled promptly. You may also simply stop writing, and nothing further will be collected.

This website is written for an adult readership and is not directed at children. Information is not knowingly collected from anyone under thirteen.

If this policy changes in any way that matters, the date at the head of this page will change with it. There is no archive of previous versions; the current text is the whole policy.
